Ahogados- Drowned

Así pinta, en efecto, como pescando ahogados en la oscuridad.

En las pinturas expuestas hay ahogados, persigo a la enigmática Ofelia como eje de la escena. El agua rodea a los melancólicos cuerpos, los envuelven y los mantiene levitando. Ademas de Hamlet de Shakespeare, medito a la Ofelia de Millais y Los suicidas del Sisga de Beatriz González. 

Ahogados trazo su equilibrio, congelados en un instante.

In the paintings on exhibition, there are drowned people, I pursue the enigmatic Ophelia as the center of the scene. The water surrounding the melancholy bodies, wrap them and keep them levitating. Besides Shakespeares´Hamlet,  I meditate Millais´Ophelia and Sisga suicide of Beatriz González.

Drowned I trace their balance, frozen in an instant.

En las pinturas se mezclan los cuerpos masculino y femenino, no considero a Ofelia una, ni mujer; mas bien una energía equilibrada, compartida; quizás sea un reflejo mixto. Las pinturas tampoco tienen una dirección especifica, se rotan, las pinté pensando en la sensación de estar en el agua, sin arriba ni abajo. Los cuerpo están fragmentados, como si hubiera partes sumergidas o si estuvieran compartiendo extremidades los ahogados.

In the paintings of male and female the bodies are mixed, I do not consider Ophelia as one, or female; rather as a balanced energy; perhaps a mixed reflection. The paintings also have a specific direction, they rotate, I painted them thinking about the feeling of being in the water with no top or bottom. The bodies are fragmented, as if there were submerged parts or if they were sharing extremities, the drowned.

Las Ofelias se ahogan en un vaso de agua  o  de vino, en una bañera o en alguna infinidad del mar.

The Ophelias drown in a glass of water or wine, in a bathtub or in any andless sea.
